Call for abstracts

The Congress Organising Committee announces the 24th Annual Congress of the South African Academy of Family Physicians.

The Congress will showcase the latest research on family medicine and primary health care. Basic, clinical, health service, health system and educational research studies are all welcome. Preference will be given to research that has been completed during the last year, although all submissions will be considered.

Abstracts may be submitted on-line for Oral or Poster presentation and must be received electronically not later than 16:00 hrs on Friday, 13 May 2022. The committee will meet shortly thereafter to finalise the review of abstracts and authors will be notified of the acceptance decision by 31 May 2022.

Submitted abstracts should be limited to 250 words and consist of five sections labelled:

1. Background
2. Aim
3. Methods
4. Results
5. Conclusions

Abstracts may be submitted for the following categories:

• Self-initiated research by novice, early-career or established researchers
• Research conducted by postgraduate students
• Research conducted by undergraduate students
